Our Journey

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Rick started his career as a bookkeeping assistant for his mom before working for an entertainment business management firm. Realizing he had a talent for turning failing businesses into thriving successes, he started his own company—Division Business Management. DBM provides business management services to the restaurant and cannabis industries. Through DBM, Rick has built relationships with many well-known establishments, including Venice's Rose Café, Huckleberry, Sweet Rose Creamery, and Bestia. After years of managing other people's restaurants, Rick was inspired to create a food concept of his own.

While the Nuts & Bolts story has only just begun, it is already comprised of some great elements. Between Rick modeling the idea off of his grandmother's mini donuts to pivoting from the dream of a Long Beach brick and mortar to a donut delivery business. He even went from believing he needed to partner with a chef to creating the recipes, menu, and...everything himself.

We all know Los Angeles is saturated with donut shops–each one with more complex options than the last. Still, Rick couldn't help feeling that something was missing. In a world of bacon-covered, gluten free, keto, etc., it seemed to Rick that a simple donut ceased to exist. It became clear that traditional flavors weren't being offered in their truest forms, so Rick set out to build a brand with the motto "Perfecting the Basics." Here at Nuts & Bolts, our donuts are homemade with the freshest ingredients and never commercially glazed.
